About Us
Welcome to Zushi’s List
Zushi’s List, affectionately known as the “Sweet List,” is more than just a community – it’s a movement driven by connection, compassion, and tradition.
Our story began when Zushi moved to Florida. After spending time traveling between Florida and New York, Florida eventually became home. During this time, Zushi met two incredible friends, and together, they launched “Shabbat on the Dock,” a warm and welcoming community Shabbat experience.
Our mission became even clearer when the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted lives and routines.
Inspired by a friend’s quote—“Stop complaining and do something about it, or you don’t have the right to complain”—Zushi and his friend took action, creating the “No Jew Should Eat Alone” initiative to bring meals and connection to those in need.
As we continued growing, we partnered with others to form EZS Events, also known as the Miami Tragedy Fund (miamitragedyfund.com). Our mission became even more critical following the Surfside building collapse, a tragedy that deeply impacted our community. In response, we established a charity and food kitchen, collaborated with the Bal Harbour synagogue and Hatzalah of South Florida, and helped raise $1.6 million to support those affected.
Through partnerships with the Jewish Federation and GEM Global Empowerment, we distributed resources to cover rent, provided emergency cash assistance, and funded mental and behavioral health services. Beyond financial aid, we organized meals and events to bring people together during difficult times.
More recently, we’ve focused on creating vibrant community events for singles and couples, fostering a welcoming Jewish community in Florida. Our goal has always been to be a one-stop hub for everything Jewish – from meals and events to meaningful connections and shared traditions.
Now, with the launch of our website, we’re bringing all our initiatives together under Zushi’s List: EZS Events, the Miami Tragedy Fund, Shabbat on the Dock, and No Jew Should Eat Alone.

What's in the Name?
“Zushi” draws inspiration from the Hebrew letter Zayin (ז), the first letter of the word "Zushi." Zayin symbolizes nourishment, balance, and connection, perfectly aligning with our mission. The name also reflects the sweetness it brings to our community, as "Zushi" means sweet. More than just a directory, Zushi’s List is a “sweet list” — a thoughtful way to nurture and strengthen the bonds that unite us.
