AnimaWings to launch Tel Aviv–Bucharest flights from October 5
Romanian carrier AnimaWings will begin direct service between Tel Aviv and Bucharest on October 5, 2025, marking its entry into the Israeli market. The airline announced it will operate three weekly flights from Ben Gurion Airport to Romania’s capital, expanding connections between the two countries .
The move reflects both growing tourism and business travel demand. Romania has become an increasingly popular destination for Israeli vacationers, offering affordable holidays, cultural attractions, and family ties. Likewise, Romanian travelers make frequent trips to Israel for pilgrimage, leisure, and work. The new AnimaWings service is expected to increase accessibility and add competition on the route, which is currently served by other European and Israeli carriers .
AnimaWings, based in Bucharest, has positioned itself as a hybrid airline that combines competitive fares with a focus on regional connectivity. Its Tel Aviv launch is part of a broader expansion strategy aimed at building stronger links across Eastern Europe and the Mediterranean. Officials said the decision to add Israel was influenced by both market demand and the close diplomatic relationship between Israel and Romania.
The new flights are also likely to support trade and educational exchanges. Romania is home to one of the largest Jewish communities in Eastern Europe, and bilateral ties include cultural initiatives, youth trips, and joint academic programs. Aviation analysts note that additional flight options can strengthen these ties and provide more resilience in times of regional travel disruption.
The service will begin just ahead of the busy holiday travel season, when demand for flights between Israel and Europe typically spikes. Tickets are already available through AnimaWings’ website and partner agencies.
