Important Update: 33154 Eruv Remains Active With Upgrades and New Council
The Jewish community of 33154, including Bal Harbour, Bay Harbor Islands, and Surfside, received uplifting news this week: the local Eruv remains fully operational and will continue to serve families and synagogues across the area without interruption.
Following recent developments concerning the Miami Beach Eruv north of 73rd Street, a newly formed 33154 Eruv Council—comprised of the rabbanim of all area shuls and committed lay leaders—has taken on full responsibility for inspection, halachic oversight, and ongoing maintenance of the Eruv within our community.
In addition, enhancements are currently being implemented to further strengthen the Eruv’s halachic integrity and reliability. These improvements reflect a shared commitment to upholding the highest standard of communal infrastructure and support for Shabbat observance.
The transition has been handled with unity and care. While we remain grateful to all who have contributed to the Eruv’s success in the past, this new chapter represents a strong, local foundation for the future.
🕊️ The message is clear: our community continues to carry into Shabbat with confidence, peace of mind, and a renewed sense of achdus (unity).
