It’s 10 p.m. on a Thursday in her freshman year when April locks eyes with Rudy in a crowded Manhattan bar, an encounter that changes everything. Hours later, Rudy is arrested; days later, April is expelled; weeks later, Rudy is in prison. Months later, April meets Peter, a brilliant young lawyer who helps rebuild her life. Years pass, and April is married to Peter, living happily in Chicago with their children.
