The history of women during the Holocaust is complex. While there is a wealth of research on diverse topics within Holocaust Studies, the unique intersectional experiences of women are frequently overlooked. The Nazi regime targeted all Jews, both men and women, for persecution and eventually death. However, women—both Jewish and non-Jewish—often faced severe persecution that was distinct from that experienced by men.
This poster exhibit will showcase the various roles women represented from 1933-1945.
